Kaneohe Marine Base Air Show

Yesterday was the last day of the Kaneohe Air Show so we decided to chance it with the kids.  The show is on the tarmac so I was told it gets hot...wow, I was told right!!  Kaneohe Marine Base is open to the public for the Air Show and that's it.  Kaneohe is possibly one of my favorite places on the island - beautiful view of both ocean and mountains!!
The girls also got a chance to ride their first rides.  They both rode all rides with out hesitation.  Emma rode the helicopter ride with her friend Allie and I wouldn't let Sophie - well, daddy said I wasn't being fair as Sophie is crying her eyes out!  I gave in and Sophie rode the next ride and just loved it!!  I sometimes underestimate what she can do and need to remember she is totally different from our timid Emma.

Sophie loving the ride with Kaylani!!

It is hard to see but we piled 5 kids on this ride - Emma, Sophie, Allie, AJ and Kaylani!!

The girls climbing into the bounce house!

Emma thought this slide looked fun but she chickened out!

Emma's 1st swing ride while daddy and Sophie watch.

Well, this is the point when the jets started flying and all smiles mostly went away!  They were both tired, hot and not loving the loud engines of the jets flying directly over their heads!!

We did torture the girls with hanging around for the Blue Angels.  We bought some ear plugs but the girls wouldn't keep them in.  Here are a few pictures taken by Tony while I was trying to keep Sophie calm and ears covered...

Laura and Jessica's Visit

Aloha Jess and Laura!!!!!!
My friends Laura and Jessica came to visit for 8 days at the end of August.  We really had a great time - lots of mai tai's and beach time!!  They were so great with the kids and we had so many laughs!!  They saw the entire island and were so easy to please! I hated to see them go but knew they wanted to get back to their men!!  They were here over a month ago but better late than never:-).
So excited to see each other:-)!!

We went straight from the airport to KoOlina for a view and some mai tais!!
Laura and Jess were so great with the kids!!  I just hope they don't go home and rip out those ovaries, haha!!

Laura and her Doodle Bug!!

Some much needed girl time...

The Real Housewives of Oahu with our guests Laura and Jess:-)!!

Laura and I at Bellows Beach!
Laura and Jess are just the best and insisted on paying for a babysitter so we could all go out on the town!!  We were pretty low-key and had a nice dinner at Chuck's and drinks after at Longboards in KoOlina.  We thought about Waikiki but it takes a good hour to get there in traffic and when you are paying a babysitter $15/hour we just wanted to stay close!

The ladies loving their pineapple infused martini's, yummmmmm....

What a great night and a beautiful sunset which made this picture difficult to take!
