Haircuts for the Girls - Sophie's 1st

Emma will be starting preschool in a few weeks and she needed a haircut badly and Sophie just need to be evened out.  They both did a great job.  We went with Jenn and her 2 kids, of course.
Emma got 3 1/2 inches cut-off!!  Here are some pictures...
I can't believe I let her hair get this long!

Emma didn't care about sitting in a taxi seat she just wanted to be by Allie!

3.5 inches and long layers
Sophie didn't mind getting her haircut at all!  She was more interested in watching Backyardigans on the tv!

Update on Emma's Swim Lessons

I am so pleased to report that after 5 lessons Emma now doesn't cry the entire lesson!!  On Friday, Emma just turned a corner and didn't cry at all.  She did everything Mr. Curtis asked and even went down the slide.  I am just floored and so incredibly relieved!!  I just want her to enjoy swimming like her mommy and daddy and I just hated that she was so freaked out!  Here is a video of Emma going under the water and grabbing a ring.
Since Friday, Emma has just decided that she loves to swim and put her face under the water!  I have been trying to go to the pool more to just reinforce what she is learning at lessons and also just get more practice.  Tony and I took the girls to the water park on Saturday and spend 7 hours at the pool on Sunday with our friends Chad and Randi.
Here is a picture from Auntie Jenny who had to step in and take Emma to try and help - it worked!!

Swimming at Auntie Allison's community pool.  Emma loves her new lifejacket!

Emma has no problems going under water now, yippee!!
We have signed up Emma for another session and I assume it will take a least 3 sessions until Emma moves up to level 2.  I will keep signing her up until Tony tells me to stop spending money, haha.  My outlook is we are in Hawaii for a year and we have to take advantage of the swim instructors - darn it this kid will learn to swim!!  I think Emma is a bit immature for dance or gymnastics so we will just stick with this for now!!

More Pictures from Nene and Papa's Visit

I still haven't posted all of the pictures from when my parents came to visit!!  I now can't remember everything we did but I know it was a lot!!  I have a bunch of pictures from Bellows - one of my favorite beaches!  The water and the view is just gorgeous!  This will also be where we have our family pictures taken next month.

Emma's 3rd Birthday

Emma was quite spoiled this year, like always, and had 3 different birthday celebrations!  We celebrated her actual birthday at Pokai Bay with our friends Chad and Randi and my parents.  We grilled out on the beach and had a great day!  I got her a Dora cake, which is all she really wanted, and opened a few presents.  Here are some pictures.

The sea turtle daddy made out of sand:-).

We also went out for a supper nice meal at Roy's.  Dad wanted good fish so we made sure he got some:-).  When I made the reservation they asked if we were celebrating anything and I said a birthday - hey, why not it is Emma's birthday week!

Emma's real gift from us was a night at the Aulani Disney Hotel.  It is so expensive we only stayed one night but still got to enjoy the pool area for 2 days!  I thought the hotel was great but Tony couldn't get over the $950 price tag for our 2 bedroom suite (that was the local discount too).  We did have a great time and Emma enjoyed all of the characters - from a far of course!  She liked to talk about them more than anything.
On Saturday morning, we had a little party for Emma at the character breakfast.  It was super cute and had a great time.  Here are some pictures from our stay...

Only at the Disney hotel do they go around and handout popsicles for the kids!

Hard to see but this was the main part of our suite.

Emma loved the lazy river.

View from the infinity hot tub!

Emma's writing on the wall at the hotel - never a dull moment with her!
