Random Pictures

We haven't done anything super exciting lately so I haven't had anything to post about!  On Friday, I had a "Mom's Night Out Aloha Party" - this whole "Aloha Party" stuff is right up my alley.  A bunch of moms from stroller strides got together to eat yummy Hawaiian themed food and drinks - hello mai tai's!!  I, of course, took full advantage and stayed out way past my bed time!

This was the late night crew and yes that was a delicious Hawaiian-like corn dog!

On Sunday, we went to bbq with some friends that have a condo in Ko Olina (aka, my favorite place).  They have access to the most amazing outside area (why didn't I take a picture, grrr....) which had a huge pool, hot tub, cabana-like cover, gas grills, kitchen area...etc.  We were there from 1:30 until 8:00 at night!  Here are some pictures I took with my phone.

Here are a few other pictures I have taken since my last post...

Emma having fun after stroller strides at the beach.

Sophie wearing Emma's hat to drive her crazy!

Emma had on shorts but they got wet and she refused to wear them!

Emma at her second swim lesson with Ms. Kelly!

Emma loves her new potty to go, a must in Hawaii.  She had to show her baby doll how to use it too;-)!

Emma, Emma, Emma The Explorer!

My friend Jenn who spends A LOT of time with my girls has nicknamed Emma
"The Explorer."  She is into anything and everything!!  You really can't turn your head for a minute.

Tony and I have been working with Emma to nap or go to bed with her bedroom door open. After we took the paci away, Emma was freaking out when we shut her door.  We have locks on all of the doors so she can't get into things - believe me we learned this the hard way.  Well, today I must have not latched our bedroom door.

Not only did she make a huge mess of my make-up, she then turned on our TV, got in our bed and made sure her baby doll was comfortable too (even giving the baby doll her blanket)!  Really, what did I do as a child to deserve this 2 year old??  I'm sure my mom can think of things but seriously.  Ghesh, it is 3:00 and Emma has already taken two baths - she got into lipgloss earlier and got it all over herself!

Well, earlier our only adventure was Target.  I entertained Emma by letting her take pictures with my phone.  She was a complete angel the entire trip!  Here were some of the 200 pictures she took with my phone!

And Poor Sophie, she is such a sweet little girl, except when this happens and she almost gives mommy and daddy a heart attacki!

Sophie fell out of a chair and scratched her eye on the way down!!  I didn't see the fall (Tony did) but boy did I hear the screams!!

I'm off to clean up after Emma the Explorer!!

KoOlina and North Shore

Polo in Hawaii?  Yup, but it is really more of a party!!  On Sundays in the North Shore from the end of March through the summer (I think), they have polo matches.  The polo field is right next to the water.  Most people park their cars along the water edge and swim/tailgate.   Here are the cars backed up to the polo field.

Just beyond these cars is this...

My kids enjoy more of the beach and of course Tony enjoys the tailgating/party:-)!  Sophie enjoys roaming around.

Emma and Sophie enjoying a little r&r...

The girls also enjoy messing up a good game of bocce ball during the intermission.

Today after stroller strides we went with everyone to KoOlina.  It is really my happy place:-)!!  I love the North Shore but the waves are so big the girls get scared to go in the water.  KoOlina is just the best place to go with children.  Here are a few pics from today.

This picture just cracks me up.  Emma is obsessed with these rinse off stations. I also wanted to show off those cute little tan lines:-)!

Lesson Learned with 2 girls

Life with two girls has finally hit us:-)!  When we moved here we only brought about half of the girls' toys.  The move and the packing happened so quickly I didn't really have time to think through which toys to bring and which toys to store in Missouri.  When I was at a friend's house, Sophie loved playing with their stroller.  I immediately thought, "great, a perfect Easter gift for Sophie" - knowing that I didn't bring any strollers in our move.  Emma had so many gifts already that I was just excited to find something easy for Sophie.  On Easter Eve, Tony was putting together the stroller for Sophie and he immediately told me that this was going to be a problem!  I still thought it would be ok.

Here is a video of  the girls on Easter morning with their Easter basket...

Here is a video of the next day...

Here is a video of a few days later...

As you can see, we just went and bought a new stroller and life is back to normal:-).  I really didn't know what to do in this situation.  I really had 2 options - take stroller away or buy Emma her own stroller.  Getting them to share at this age just really wasn't a battle I was willing to fight.  Taking away the stroller wouldn't be fair to poor Sophie who just wanted to walk around pushing her stroller without Emma stealing it from her every time.  Buying Emma a new stroller doesn't really teach her to share either.  But in her defense, we did put 2 strollers in storage in MO which Emma just loved.  I finally just told Tony the situation and after finding out how cheap the stroller was he said just go and buy another darn stroller - DONE!!  I will have to take the opportunity to prove a point on sharing but not with the stroller!

Before I forget, I finally got a new look.  I paid someone a few months ago to design my website and she took FOREVER but at least it is finally done:-)!  I'm happy with the layout but wish I could change the pictures in the heading.  I now, thanks to my friend Jenn, have so many cuter pics but it took the lady so long to design I didn't want to change anything - in fear it would take her another few months to finish!

Catch Up

We have been up to so much and I just have a ton of cute pics to show!  It really seems like all we do is run, run but there is so much to do and so much I want to see!!  Poor Sophie doesn't really get a morning nap anymore!  But it has made for a good night sleeper - I can't remember the last time she didn't sleep through the night!!  Here is what we have been up to the last few weeks!!
